I'm a recently laid off graphic designer and with the few job postings I'm seeing lately, I'm already worried about running out of my meager unemployment benefits. Your situation sounds so stressful! And I am also in the process of trying to modify my crappy mortgage and have heard from more than one person inside the mortgage business that same suggestion about not making payments. It took me until last month to start receiving the unemployment benefits (5 mo late). All because a letter telling me I missed something when I first filed "got lost in the mail". Funny how the letter showed up after I finally talked to someone on the phone.
