Er, um, your next to last favorite is Look it up? Or are you cleverly trying to get us all to look up penultimate?

I wish I was so clever. It was actually a moment of trying to think of the word “apogee,” but only remembering “perigee,” looking it up to get the antonym, trying to adjectify it (yes, I just made that word up, I like it, don’t you?), failing, forgetting what I was doing in the first place, and wildly and incorrectly using “penultimate” instead. D’oh!

Penultimate and decimate share the same fate of being so constantly misused that it’s hard to remember what they really mean. :)

And, I had to look up “apogee.”

I had to look up “pony”.

Come to find out, the thing living in my backyard isn’t one of those either…
